• This little guy learned how to whistle!  No one taught him, he just did it and now he can’t (or won’t) stop.  He whistles all the time.  Impressive, I say, since I had to sit on a stool and practice for hours at whistling.  My hope is that his new *trick* will keep him so busy that he won’t have time for talking! Ha! I love him, I do, but his jabbering is doing a number on my ears. 🙂

And, in other news, the baby has now slept 8 hours for FOUR nights in a row!  I’m spoiled.

  • I love Sundays.  In our faith, we treat Sunday as a Sabbath Day…a Holy Day.  We choose not to purchase things, go out to the mall or out to eat.  We choose to spend it as a family, with extended family or friends.  We don’t let the kids go play with friends down the street and we watch limited tv.  We don’t expect the same from everyone, but it is what is right for us.  Even other people in our church have different standards for this day based on their own feelings and beliefs.

I can’t always say that it is "reverent" around here.  Or that we’re good at keeping our own standards.  In fact, right now the boys and Derek are ambushing each other with fake guns.  But I am so grateful to have a day that is separate from the week.  A day of worship.  A day of family.  A day of rest.  A day where we take a break from the worries and work of the week and just enjoy each other.  I feel like it anchors us.  And helps us grow closer as a family.

    I’m grateful for Sundays.

SLEPT THRU THE NIGHT!!  8 HOURS!!  FOR THE FIRST TIME!!

And even better yet…I slept thru the night too!  I went to bed at 11…woke up at 6:30, and had that moment of panic.  "Is he alive?"  "Did I get up and just not remember it?!"  And then I heard him breathing and knew…he did it!

15 weeks of waking up in the middle of the night…boy, do I feel good this morning.

And the best part is…now I know he can do it.

This is another "uncle outfit"…this time from his Uncle Mark.

    Love it!

  • 1.  Caleb has this idea that the girls in his preschool class are "bullies"…one in particular, the cutest one…Macy.  Today he got in the car and told me this…
"Mom!!  The girls were NICE today…I played with them.  They let me be the dog in home living!"

I hated to tell him the bad news…they’re pulling your chain, little man!

    2.  Derek was in Toronto this week for a trade show.  While packing, he accidentally grabbed my black knee-high stockings, instead of his own black socks.  Poor guy wore women’s stockings all day yesterday!  I had to laugh.

  • this project.  Took me 10 months, 200+ hours.  I love to cross stitch.  And it keeps my hands busy during the long days of nausea (and bed rest, in this case).  It’s my gift to each baby.  And I will pass it down to their babies some day.

Now I’m off to the framing store.

  • WHO INVENTED PLASTIC EASTER GRASS????

They should be shot (alright, you’re right, that’s a little violent…they should be sent to the island of perpetual tickling and receive the tickle torture (it’s from a Veggie Tale movie)).  It’s all over my house, and sticks to EVERYTHING.  It’s like magnetic or something.

Cleaning up from the weekend, can you tell? 🙂 🙂

  • We took Samuel on his first trip to Austin for his first Easter.  And his first visit to the Robinson Farm.  Good Friday was cool and beautiful, and we had a great time at the farm. We discovered that Caleb LOVES worms and caterpillars.  And Jacob caught a lizard.  It’s boy heaven, alright.  Fishing, tractors, grass, bugs…it’s the best. I loved watching my boys learn how to hang the flags with my Dad.  Saturday the highs were in the 30s and it rained/sleeted all day.  Not quite the Easter weather we had planned on, but it was fun nonetheless.

My favorite part, I think, was the wildflowers.  They were spectacular this year…everywhere you looked along the roads.  Thankfully I took pics of the boys in the bluebonnets on Friday, because it was not happening in the rain.

Not exactly the outfits I would have picked for the yearly bluebonnet pictures, but HEY…cute anyway!

We can always count on my brother Mike to keep the boys in line!

  • This little guy turned 3 months old yesterday.  I can’t believe how fast he’s growing.  And I remember when the other boys hit 3 months they just grew/changed/developed so rapidly after that.

He loves to kick, suck on his hands (fists) and "talk" to us by playing with his voice.

Found my 3 guys like this after a shower on Saturday morning.  They were teaching Samuel the finer points of Sat morning cartoons.

  • Happy, Happy Birthday to YOU (yesterday).  She’s in Seattle for a principals conference and I haven’t gotten to talk to her.  She is an amazing mother and grandmother and friend.  I cannot imagine my life without her.  LOVE YOU!
