When Jacob was just a little toddler we hosted Kay in our home for the first time. When he realized her name was Kay, he exclaimed “just like cake!!??!!”. And that’s what we’ve called her ever since. The name fits her – she’s as sweet as cake!
Samuel and I had lunch with her today at The Depot. I always love our time with her.
Added bonus – she bought me some cake for dessert!
And delighted to be a great-grandmother, if only by marriage, to the young Smith gents. She’s an amazing woman — 85 years young, reads voraciously, constantly looking for faster online services, listens to talk radio and NPR, watches Family Guy, gets around pretty good in her Honda, keeps an eye on her portfolio, and is looking forward to getting HD and DVR up and running. I may be Pops, but she’s me Mums.
