So much catching up to do and I don't really have it in me!  Not feeling the blogging/writing vibe for some reason.  But I was looking through pictures tonight from the past couple of days and they made me so happy.  I definitely don't want to forget how wonderfully magical this Christmas has been for our family – the whole month has been that way really!  Great, great blessing of family and friends and gifts and giving and joy and experience and laughter…it really does NOT get any better than this.  I feel so, so blessed from my head to my toes.  Full to the brim.  God has been so good to us.  I hope we're being good to Him too.

Here are just a couple of my favorites…details on the details to come.

Love the cooking with Samuel picture, and the picture of your mom! And, good grief, Maggie is so big!

Great shots! I am assuming you took at least a couple of these with the new lens. You may know this already, but the wider the aperture (the lower the f/number), the shallower the field of focus. That is, you could take exactly the same picture with a higher f/number (smaller aperture), and more of the picture would be in focus. That effect will be more apparent in close-ups than in pictures when you stand back. (Compare Nana shot with Maggie shot.)
The good news is that with the tools now available to the typical consumer, you can stand back a bit, take a picture with the wider aperture, and then “crop” it into a close-up. Because you have stood back some, more of the picture will be in focus.
The more you use that lens, the better you will like it!! We like it already!! (Yes, it’s true — we were being selfish when we gave it to you!!)
    Love from Pops
