We had a special treat today for our church service. We attended a special Stake Conference (congregations from The Colony and Frisco – almost 2000 people were there). The reason for the gathering was a visit from a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Elder Russell M. Nelson. This is a rare treat and blessing for us. There are 15 men in our church called as apostles, prophets, seers and revelators…and three of them were visiting the Dallas area this weekend, one of whom was with us. It was great to see him in person and to have him in our midst. The kids were disappointed to not actually meet him in person, but seeing him and hearing his counsel was enough. He specifically talked about how and what we teach our children. I love these men – they are men of great wisdom and understanding. They are men of God.
