We had a wonderful Mother’s Day and enjoyed having my mom, Steve, his mom Kay, Mark, and Audra here to celebrate with us.  For obvious reasons, it’s one of my favorite holidays.  I like being celebrated…what can I say!?!  I also love the feeling of being appreciated.  Derek had the boys each tell me things that they love about me…that was special.  And he also grilled filet mignon, which was delicious.  Every year he gets me an orchid corsage to wear to church (he also gets one for his sister).  I love that tradition.  It’s not necessary and yesterday I only got to wear it for an hour because I had to take Jacob home sick.  But it makes me feel loved…and that’s a great feeling.

There was also another special gift from Derek, that will remain a surprise until later in the week…stay tuned for a post on that topic!  I love a little blog suspense…

Jacob’s got that yucky strep again, and boy does it take its toll on him.  It breaks my heart.  He didn’t eat ANYTHING yesterday except a little bit of applesauce.  And his fever is high.  He slept in our room last night and wimpered thru the night.  So sad…this is twice in one month.

We were lucky enough to have dinner with his art teacher the other night at Gattitown.  I do believe it was the thrill of his LIFE.  He was so excited…woke up that morning saying it was his "BIG DAY".  She was very sweet and she’s so good at what she does.  We won the dinner at a silent auction.  I found him staring at the picture of her with a pen in hand ready to sign his name, and decided to intervene.
